OLIVIA Steer continues to thrive on the track and her latest successes came in Birmingham and Exeter.
First up was her foray to the West Midlands where she took part in the National Championships at the Alexander Stadium.
Here, Olivia earned what she described as an “unexpected” silver medal, running the 3000m which isn't her usual distance. Whilst it wasn’t a great time in her eyes, she found herself on the podium all the same.
Attentions then quickly turned to the Southwest Championships in Exeter just a couple of days later, would she be able to turn silver into gold?
Of course she did! In a time of 4.35, at her preferred distance, the Dawlish youngster led the way and won the top prize.
Clinching the title of SW Champion after a “busy couple of weeks” all over the country was quite the feat as Olivia flourished once again.
Moving forward, she has been selected for the School Games in Loughborough at the end of August.
