THERE were two games to report on for Stover Golf Club in the Men’s Dartmoor League.

Firstly, there was a clash with unknown quantity Fingle Glen on home soil and despite giving a lot of shots, Stover won 3-2. Matt Perry & Richard Such were the outstanding duo, winning their match 7&5.

Next up it was Bigbury in the DML Knock-Out Cup Quarter Final, also taking place at Stover, and this went right down to the wire.

Following wins for Neil Goddard & Matt Perry (3&2) and Curtis Pyne & debutant Stephen Deviell (6&5), the match stood at 2-2 with one game still on the course.

The Stover pair won on the 18th to send it to a playoff hole in the darkening evening, but due to giving a shot on this extra hole, Joe Goddard and Jeff Steward were beaten by their visiting opponents.

This was a fantastic match played in great spirits and next up is a trip to Bovey Castle in the league, on July 20.
