KINGSTEIGNTON Bowls Club travelled to Abbrook Park on June 19 with both the Over 55 X and Y teams in action.

Abbrook won 49-24 in the X Division, claiming all eight league points. KBC skipper John Saunders lost 27-8 whilst Ian Westaway was beaten 22-16 and the former said it was a better performance than last week despite the result.

Unfortunately, Kingsteignton didn’t fare any better in the Y Division, losing 52-19 with all eight league points going the way of Abbrook once again.

Skipper Bill Beech described this outing as a disaster, losing his game 33-7, whilst Martin Redfern was beaten 19-12.

The hosts powered away with some great bowls but also some lucky ones, on Bill’s rink. Good bowls from KBC seemed to push Abbrook’s bowls further in, thus increasing their tally.

Either way, well done to Abbrook who certainly got their own back.
