TEIGNBRIDGE Trotters were represented on Dartmoor at the Pagan Trail Ultra-marathon, with 28 miles/1,500m of ascent.

Derek Skinner and Tim Hassell finished in 57th and 58th, in times of 7:21 and 10 & 18 seconds, Derek commenting, “I’m glad that’s done and dusted for marathon number 95.”

It was described as, "A tough race, very muddy underfoot and a bit cold but after the weather we have had the day could not have been better.”

Ruth Johnson completed the half in 119th, 3:26:51 and said: "Perfect conditions for me… I’m glad I didn't have to do 28 miles, although I'd like to next year, maybe."

Elsewhere, fearless Trotter Benj Akyol took part in the infamous and brutal Arc of Attrition, one of the UK's toughest mid-winter trail ultra marathons.

The Arc 100 is a unique point-to-point race along the most exposed sections of the Southwest Coast Path in England's Southwest, from Coverack to Porthtowan.

Ben hadn't slept much the night before, missed breakfast, and found it tough going in the first 25 miles, being sick due to some unhelpful energy options. Cheese and pickle sandwiches helped turned around his fortunes before bad conditions through the night, in Porthcurno and Lands’ End, proved disorientating.

By Godrevy (89.2 miles), with his feet awful and in excruciating pain, Ben pulled out. The elevation of the event described as 13942ft hadn't been the issue, but uneven terrain and soggy socks had done him in. A fantastic first effort at an incredible event.

Meanwhile, Chloe & Steve Weeks and Callum Price made the trip to Newquay for a popular 10k on February 2. The road race was amazing with a mixture of hills, mud, and windy weather. Callum was delighted with his new 10k PB.

Steve was 97th in 41:22, Chloe 99th in 41:23 and Callum 399th in 54:44.
