HALDON Trail Runners chair Anthea Board won her age category in a race for the third week in a row on Sunday.
Fresh from her success at the muddy 13-mile Oh My Obelisk race in Dawlish and flat First Chance 10k in Exeter, she also took the FV60 honours in the rearranged Budleigh Blister race on January 19.
The race, organised by Exmouth Harriers, replaced the Bicton Blister on the local racing calendar and had been due to take place in the autumn but was postponed due to severe weather. Instead, runners gathered in East Devon at the weekend for the new 10-mile multi-terrain race which took in the South West Coast Path as well as tracks and fields.
As well as winning her age category, Anthea was 43rd overall in 1:21.39. Cat Matthews also took part in the race for the club and was 91st in 1:32.46.
Also at the weekend, Rebecca Gilbert and Mai Warren did the Race the Light half marathon at Mothecombe on the Erme estuary on Saturday, January 18.
The route took runners through the private Flete estate, with two crossings of the River Erme.
Rebecca finished 32nd overall and second FV40 in 2:05.44, with Mai 47th in 2:14.05.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, January 19, Alison Richards from Fit2run also tackled the newly rebranded 'Budleigh Blister' (was 'Bicton Blister').
The off-road running event started at the newly completed Budleigh Cricket ground and follows part of the stunning South West Coastal Path, returning via Otterton.
A mixed terrain route, Alison thoroughly enjoyed it, finishing in an impressive time of 1.49. An experienced runner, Alison would highly recommend this event if you are thinking about it for next year.
