THERE were a few competitions taking place at Stover Golf Club in the last week or so, perhaps most notably was Hampton’s Cross Country Challenge Trophy.

All the feedback was extremely positive so many thanks go to Greenkeeper Jason, who it is named after, for an interesting and fun course.

Division One was won both the quartet of Phil Retter, Stewart Duncan, Mark Merrin & Jeff Steward on 92 points.

Meanwhile, 84 was the winning score in Division Two, courtesy of Kate Cooney, Callum Cooney, Brook-Tyler Mitchelmore & Sally Newman.

Also taking place there was a ladies’ nine-hole competition and the Ladies Jubilee Foursomes.

The former was win by Claire Grey who scored an amazing 22 points whilst the pairing of Lesley Pascoe and Debbie Bunclark prevailed in the latter. The Foursomes competition was a 27-hole event, and the aforementioned duo scored 41pts in the morning and then 17pts in the afternoon. Jane MacDonald-Smith & Susan Dolan were the runners-up.
