Spurs won 3-1 at The Rec against South West Peninsula Premier West outfit Millbrook AFC thanks to a brace from substitute Tate Breslan-Aggrey (read our full match report on page 40).

Bovey meanwhile, travelled to Great Torrington to face Torridgeside AFC, losing 2-0. Josh Parsons and George Shapland scored the goals to book a spot for their team in the next round, being drawn against Liskeard Athletic in the last 16.

Teignmouth AFC weren’t in action and their fixture is the final one to be played, with the winner of them and Bodmin Town set to host Okehampton Argyle in early January. Talking of Argyle and it took extra time and a penalty shootout for them to overcome Callington Town.

Elsewhere, Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police won 2-1 away at Wendron United courtesy of strikes from Sam Bishop and Morgan Harford.

Crediton United, Bridport and Penzance all scored five times but the standout result of the round has to be the 10-goal thriller at Tiger Way.

Calling it a 10-goal thriller gives hosts Axminster Town a false sense of hope in truth, given that they were dispatched 9-1 by a rampant Newquay AFC team. Talking of Axminster and they lost 6-2 at home to Spurs in the league the week prior, Breslan-Aggrey scoring twice on that day as well, making it a rough seven days or so over in East Devon.

Cup action gives way for league football once again although neither Bovey nor Teignmouth are in action this coming weekend.

Spurs are the only Mid-Devon representation in the SWPL as they host Torridgeside who just edged out Bovey.

After that, Broadley Lane will be their destination in mid-week, the home of an in-form Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police outfit. Eight points separate Marc Revell’s men in fourth and Stoke in seventh at the time of writing and the former have a game in hand but this will still be another huge test for the young Spurs.

The following day, October 23, Bovey will go away to a very strong Elburton Villa before all three teams are in action that weekend, for the first time in a while.
