NEW Cross held on for a two-point win away to Okehampton 2nd XV in Devon Two North East, writes Conrad Sutcliffe.
The Kingsteignton side overturned a 12-7 half-time deficit to go 21-12 up early in the second half.
Okehampton got into losing bonus-point territory with a converted try in the last minute of the match.
Tim Marshall, the New Cross team manager, said: “Okehampton had a pretty strong side, but we matched them fairly well in the first half.
“We raised the tempo after halftime and scored two quick converted tries to get ahead.”
Julian Hull, Danny Walters and Josh Davey were the New Cross try scorers whilst Louie Griffiths, Nick Halse and Ash Ansermoz landed a conversion each.
New Cross are back at Five Lanes this Saturday for a derby date against Teignmouth 2nd XV.
