WESTERN FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Buckland Athletic 2 Clevedon Town 2
RYAN Bush netted a second brace in as many league games to secure Buckland Athletic a very important point.
Clevedon Town were the visitors at Homers Heath and after the side from North Somerset knocked Buckland out of the FA Vase exactly seven days prior, Dan Hart’s men needed to get their own back.
Bush found himself within the six-yard box twice in the first half and was on hand to convert both times, taking his record in the league to a very impressive 15 goals from 18 games, the third most in the division. In the absence of the prolific Jared Lewington, his fellow striker has taken on the baton and delivered again and again.
A brace from Bush pushed the Bucks into a commanding position but their lead was halved before the break.
The away team finally found an equaliser, with less than five minutes of the 90 still to play.
Whilst the manner of the draw may be disappointing, Clevedon are firmly in the hunt for the Western Football League title, having lost just once all season.
After this 2-2 draw, Buckland sit sixth in the table and Clevedon in second, although the four-point gap between the pair could be reduced if the former won their game in hand.
Both sides have a few games in hand on leaders Brixham AFC as well so expect Buckland to be right up there come the end of the season.
Hart’s men visit Bridgwater United at Fairfax Park next, on Saturday, 23.
