Dawlish Women Walking Football Club have had a busy start to the autumn, in preparation for their next Devon League fixture which takes place on November 17.
The 3 club teams have played various friendlies against Mid Devon, Taunton and most recently, Modbury Vixens. These games are invaluable with an opportunity to try out new ideas.
These, together with twice-weekly training sessions, are building confidence towards next month’s tournament. It is early days but the initial performances by Fledgies, Cygnets and Swans were very promising.
Sitting third in Division One currently are The Cygnets, four points behind the league leaders Plymouth Argyle Ladies. Whilst The Swans top Division Two and The Fledglings, having only formed in the summer, look to improve on their current 5th place.
The club is still running the award-winning Kick n Cake sessions every other Sunday at Sandy Lane. They are open to all women aged over 50 with a focus on feeling safe and having fun.
