ABBROOK Park Bowls Club ladies SDL5 team continue their winning ways, writes Liz Rollason with another eight points away to Paignton’s two.

Rink 1: Joan Sandelance, Julia Hearne & skip Pat Loft 13-16, rink 2: Helen Meager, Claire Lloyd & skip Liz Rollason 26-12, rink 3: Jos Schirn, Pam Carwardine & skip Elaine Coombes 7-24.

Then, on Wednesday 10, Abbrook’s SDL2 team hosted the ladies from Torquay and secured another eight points.

Rink 1: Barbara Lawrence, Carolyn Wilkinson & skip Jean Stevens 25-14, rink 2: Pat Smith, Joan Medleycott & skip Tina Sharp 13-15 and rink 3: Jill McCord, Tricia Bailey & skip Anne Russell 14-12.

On the same day, the men’s over 55s league X team were at home against Dawlish Marina and they managed a hard-fought draw.

Rink 1: Greg Wood, Phil Stanley & skip Jim Yeoman 11-28, rink 2: Les Woodger, Kevin Taylor & skip Mike Meathrel 30-13.

Finally, the Y team were away at Newton Abbot and they claimed all eight points.

Rink 1: Gordon Clark, Dave Woods & skip Graham Smith 10-21, rink 2: Will Wale, Alan Sanders & skip Jim Preston 17-30.
