FIRSTLY for Kingsteignton Bowls Club, the ladies had their final SDLBL outing.
Marldon were welcomed to Kingsteignton on August 13 and the home side won in convincing fashion, 69-17, also claiming all 10 league points.

KBC captain Margaret Sole said the team all hoped for a good match to end the season with and as they say in cricket, rain stopped play. They called it a day after 15 ends by which point, KBC boasted a healthy advantage yet, the Marldon ladies were all very friendly and put on a brave face through it all.
Chairperson Hilary Downing presented the Hotshot trio of Margaret Sole, Lizzy Maynard & Debbie Dobing (as mentioned in MDA release of August 8) with a certificate each and a Hotshot badge.
Meanwhile, KBC Over 55’s X Div’s match against Shaldon was postponed on August 14, as Shaldon had availability problems. This match is rescheduled for August 27.
KBC Over 55’s Y Div were in action and they entertained fellow bowlers from Newton Abbot on the 14th. It ended 51-18 to KBC (8-0 on league points). Bill Beech 24-9 J Palmer; Martin Redfern 27-9 N Godwin.
Skipper Bill labelled it a very good match for Kingsteignton with both rinks dominating throughout, which you need with home advantage.
The winning was secondary to everyone being friendly and enjoying the balling, and surprisingly, everyone survived Bill’s cakes again.
