ABBROOK Park’s Over 55s X-Team were in action at home on Wednesday August 7.

A very strong Shaldon, who are in the hunt for the divisional title, were the visitors and Abbrook gave a good account of themselves, losing by just three shots.

Rink One: Les Woodger, Norrie Wilson and skip Mike Meathrel won 21-16 having taken eight shots on the first end.

Rink Two: Jim Yeoman, Rob Horrell and skip Phil Ritson lost 15-23 after an up-and-down game.

The following day, the Ladies’ SDL1 team were at home against Newton Abbot and they earned a much-needed victory.

Rink One: Jill McCord, Jean Stanley and skip Anne Russell won 18-13. Rink Two: Pat Smith, Joan Medleycott and skip Tina Sharpe won 25-15.
