KINGSTEIGNTON Bowls Club actions begins with the ladies, who travelled to Shaldon to play on their lawn on August 6.
It finished 89-26 to Shaldon and so they claimed all 10 league points also. KBC skipper Margaret Sole labelled it as an extremely friendly match despite the result with their heavy-going green always proving difficult for visiting players.

The next day, the Over 55’s X Division team played away at Bovey Tracey.
Bovey won 46-24 and claimed all eight league points, but KBC captain John Saunders remarked that it was a good match against welcoming hosts all the same.

KBC’s Y Division next and they were entertained by Chudleigh on August 7.
It finished 52-23 to Chudleigh (8-0 pts) and skipper Bill Beech said it was a tale of woe really, but an enjoyable morning nonetheless.

Lastly, we return to the KBC ladies who hosted Torquay Kings and won 66-39 (10-0 pts).
Everyone enjoyed their afternoon and skipper Margaret said that the Kings’ ladies are a very friendly team. The importance of home advantage in bowls is evident here.
