AFTER the August break, the Snowbee Top Rod Competition returned for round seven, at Clatworthy, high up in the Brendon Hills near Wiveliscombe.

10 anglers made the trip in cloudy conditions, with a couple of spots of rain, and a total of 40 fish were caught.

Six anglers caught their five fish limit, the average catch was four and the average weight was 2.83lbs.

Chris Bolt of Kingsteignton caught the best fish of the day at 4lbs, and he led the way, catching five for a total of 15lbs.

Following Chris were Darren Penfold (Liverton) 5 fish and 14lbs 9oz, Alec Hoare (Abbotskerswell) 5 fish and 14lbs 8oz, Rob Gale (Ashburton) 5 fish and 13lbs 11oz, John Hern (Exeter) 5 fish and 13lbs 10oz and then Alex Venn (Willand) 5 fish and 13lbs 8oz.
