ABBOTSKERSWELL’S relegation from the A Division was confirmed by a five-wicket defeat away to Plymouth.
Abbotskerswell, who have been living on borrowed time for a while, were bowled out for 156. Plymouth’s Jack Hughes claimed six wickets for 31 runs – two at the top – four later on and there were two poles for Fahad Ali.
James Tyler (57) and Jamie Lock (35) put on 74 for Abbots’ fourth wicket before Ali had the latter caught behind.
Tyler demise on 149 sparked a collapse to 156 all out. Five wickets fell for seven runs scored.
Plymouth’s pursuit was not without its complications as they were 38 for three after problems facing Liam Hurse (2-13) and Par Singh (2-34). Stein (29) was fourth out on 64.
A stand of 75 between Rob Bennett (37) and former captain Jon Varcoe (38no) killed the game as a contest.
