NEWTON Abbot’s Gulls Skittles Club have recently enjoyed both team success and individual success.

The team of Scott Desborough, Rob Desborough, Graham Huddison, Alan Howard, Jenny Thompson, Ken Howard, Mark Howard, Colin Shute and Mark Thompson (pictured from left to right accordingly), finished runners-up in the Premier League this time around.

They are particularly proud of their achievement with some members of the squad being relative newcomers to the sport of skittles.

When it comes to individual success, Jenny Thompson has picked up a pair of trophies for her hard work.

Firstly, Jenny is the Newton Abbot Ladies Singles winner for 2024, a competition that took place at the Oakford Club.

Secondly, she went on to win the Devon County Ladies Singles 2024 title as well. This trophy dates back to 1970 and yet Jenny is the first Newton Abbot name on the trophy, which speaks to the magnitude of her achievement. Torquay was the location for this event.
