GIRLS from Newton Abbot RFC, at U12, U14 and U16 age groups, travelled to Weston-Super-Mare earlier this year on tour.
They all travelled by coach to their day trip in style, wearing specially designed T-shirts courtesy of four sponsors.
Teign Lodge were a part of this quartet, alongside Spirent, Kevin Thomas Electrical and R Andrews & Son, with Lodge 7018’s charity steward Stuart Beck approaching the club for this opportunity.
£600 was donated by the Lodge from their charity fund, combined with the money from the other three sponsors, going towards the shirts pictured.
The U16s had a field day, beating Weston Roses 57-14, whilst it is less about the score for the younger groups, for who it was also, overall, an excellent day and valuable squad bonding experience.
England will be hosting the Women’s World Cup next year and NARFC have the largest girl’s section in the county following a lot of recent growth so everything is headed in the right direction, supported by these generous donations.
