FOUR Fit2Run ladies took part in the 20-year celebration of Parkrun on Saturday, October 5, completing the Parke course at Bovey Tracey.
They all gained top three spots in their age groups and were able to take a moment to appreciate the Parkrun series and philosophy and the joy it has brought so many over the last 20 years, all over the world.
On a rather wet Sunday, Becky Abbott completed the Templer 10, a ten-mile course run by the Teignbridge Trotters.
The first race of this distance, Becky finished in an impressive time of 1.52.
It is a multi-terrain 10-mile course starting and finishing in the wonderful grounds of Stover School, Newton Abbot. The course is 90% off-road and runners will have the pleasure of running through the picturesque Stover Country Park as well as the fields at Teigngrace.
The first session of Fit2Run’s COUCH TO 5K is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, meeting at The Recreational Trust at 6:45pm.
Do go along and try it out (you will receive a complimentary running tabard), they are a friendly ladies' group, catering for all abilities with excellent coaches and run leaders.
