NEW Cross moved level on points with Crediton Quins at the top of Devon Two North & East with a runaway 51-15 win away to Cullompton 2n XV.

“It was a very clinical performance by us from start to finish,” said Tim Marshall, the New Cross team manager.

“‘Cullompton ran us close back in September, so we had to respect them.

“The first half was one of the best of the season, with the forwards dominating up-front and giving us ca platform to play from.

“What was more pleasing is that we kept going for the full game and didn’t take our foot off.”

With arch-rivals Newton Abbot Spartans due at Five Lanes this Saturday, It was just the warm-up win New Cross wanted after an unwanted week off.

The New Cross try scorers at Stafford Park were Jimmy Uwin (2), Jamie Zabb (2), Julian Hull (2), Tom Havill, Rob Pedrick and Ryan Wotton. Lewis Short and Ryan Wotton took care of the kicking.
