ASHMOOR Women's team faced Dart 4s Development team last weekend, looking to maintain their 100% record at the start of their Petroc 2 season.

Tilly McEwen was immediately on the scoreboard, maintaining her title of top goal scorer and she then scored again to take Ashmoor into the break 2-0 up.

In the second half, it was the turn of Player of the Match Emily Hunter (pictured, courtesy of Mark Lockett Photography), to score two outstanding goals.

Ella Reade kept another clean sheet with some top-tier goalkeeping, the game finishing 4-0 to making it three wins in a row for Ashmoor. Next up is a trip to Okehampton.

AFTER the previous weekend’s game had been abandoned for the Men’s 1st XI due to a waterlogged pitch, as well as the following night’s training, Ashmoor were probably not as prepared as they would have liked for their trip to Fareham.

Just as the first quarter looked to be ending honours even, a momentary lapse in the press allowed two easy through balls, and the free player in the shooting circle finished well to give the home team lead.

With three-quarters in the books, Ashmoor were just the one goal adrift and felt they could still get something from the game.

A couple of harsh and debatable penalties saw Rich Ashworth sin-binned and Fareham score twice, before taking it 4-0 against a tiring team.

The “Pallex Player of the Match” went to youngster Sol Bloomfield. Coming up next is a double-header, the rearranged game on the Saturday and then hosting Oxford Hawks on the Sunday.

ASHMOOR Men’s 2nd XI were able to field their strongest squad of the season so far and gave a controlled performance against a decent Teign team, winning 3-0.

Sam Robbins made an excellent penalty corner save in the Ashmoor goal and then midway through the half, his teammates broke the deadlock. Dan Cowdry with a calm finish from close range after an excellent pass from Angus Martin.

One became two before the break as Harry Little picked out Ben Andrew with pinpoint accuracy and the latter converted with a deft touch.

Andrew turned provider for the final goal setting up Dan Green and earning Player of the Match as a result. Ocean City visit next for the 2nd team.

TALKING of Ocean City and their 3rd team were the opponents for Ashmoor 3s, Ashmoor winning 3-0 in Plymouth.

New player Will Robinson scored first, then Andy Baker was assisted by his son Will before youngster Ollie Brown rounded it off.

Twin brothers Will and Ed Robinson were joint Players of the Match- next up is a trip to Exeter University.

FINALLY to the Men’s 4th XI who were narrowly beaten in a first home game of the season.

Steve Dinnie and Mark Lockett combined for Ashmoor to take the lead but Sidmouth & Ottery scored twice in the last 10 minutes to flip the game on its head.

Debutant Tom Boyd was named as Player of the Match and S&O 4ths visit next.
