FIVE Haldon Trail Runners took part in a variety of races at the weekend.

Cat Matthews and Simon Bunday both did the hilly 20-mile Loop in South Devon.

The race started and finished at Broadsands beach, and also took in Churston, Galmpton, Kingswear and Brixham, with stunning coastal views and views down the River Dart. Once runners hit the coast path the going got very tough, with some big climbs and a total elevation of 4,360ft.

Cat came home 86th in 5:25.51 and Simon was 92nd overall and first male over-65 in 5:42.44.

Alice Stuckey and Val Blacklock both returned with PBs from the Bournemouth half marathon, which took runners along the Bournemouth coastline, featuring both Boscombe and Bournemouth piers.

Alice crossed the line in 1:38.53 and Val in 2:00.42.

Meanwhile, Chris King did the ColyTEN race in East Devon.

The 10-mile multi-terrain race started and finished in Colyton and saw Chris finish in 1:27.05 for 53rd place.
