TEIGNMOUTH GC Seniors played Exeter on Friday 28 June at home in the second round of the Emerton Court Trophy for the first time in many, many years, having beaten Sidmouth in the first round.

Having lost the away leg at Exeter 3.5-1.5 they had to win 4-1 to progress to the quarter-final.

Unfortunately, despite the first three Teignmouth pairs winning their matches, the last two pairs narrowly lost their respective outings.

last 2 matches so despite winning 3 - 2 on the day were knocked out of the competition 5 and half to 4 and half overall.

It was a narrow 5.5-4.5 defeat overall which is a shame but Bob Radley and Simon and Beasley deserve a special mention for winning 6&5.

17 players were used in total in the competition and captain Dave Anderson praised everyone for an exceptional effort.
