SUNDAY June 2 saw Dainton Park drawn in the second round of the Palairet against Exeter, with Thurlestone GC as the location.

All five foursomes matches were hard fought with the second match of Charley Bailey and Kristian Podilchuk even going down the 19th hole, thanks to birdies on 17 and 18 that levelled the game, eventually agreeing on an honourable draw on the 20th.

The lead pair of Nathan Brown and Stu Dickinson were unshakable all day and closed their match out on the 18th, at 2up.

Sam Knight and Joe Nichols were the only SDL duo to win for Dainton this weekend and so winning 3&2 in the Palairet as well made for a great weekend.

Daryl Page Dove and Owen Williams won their respective match on 17 whilst Graham Lawrence and Greg Booth were beaten on the 16th, for the only Dainton defeat of the day, the final score being 3.5-1.5.
