109 DAYS since their last home game, Bovey Tracey AFC were in action on Saturday August 17 in front of their own fans.
They were full of energy in the early stages of this South West Peninsula League clash versus Bishops Lydeard AFC and it took 11 minutes for the opener to come.
Jesse Howe and Neil Last were involved in the Bovey building up and Lewis Perring was on hand to make sure it found the back of the net.
Minutes later, Howe doubled the host’s lead and 2-0 was the score at the break.
“Cruise control” was the phrase used by their Twitter account and just before the hour, Howe completed his brace to put the result beyond reasonable doubt.
Tai Bewes pulled one back for Bishop in the 82nd minute but it was nothing more than a consolation goal and so Bovey made it six points from an available nine.
Bovey Tracey starting XI: Rhys Williams (GK), Cliff Walters (C), Luke Horne, Dan Griffiths, Harvey Coggins, Mitch Thomas, Kai Swann, Neil Last, Jesse Howe, Cal Leech, Lewis Perring.
