DAWLISH United Football Club are delighted to announce that, on Friday June 21, a new 20-year agreement was signed with Teignbridge District Council for the lease of the main ground at Sandy Lane.

It is rare for the council to agree to a lease term in excess of 10 years and so the club’s thanks go to Bob Tranckle, Peter Lee and Scott Richards Solicitors for their work in negotiating this longer lease term.

Stuart Gray, the Dawlish United chairman, commented;

“We are thrilled that the council have shown such confidence in the club. The longer lease term will enable us to plan for the future, apply for funding and improve the facility for the benefit of, not just the club, but for the whole community of Dawlish.”

Dawlish’s 1st XI finished at the foot of Division 1 after a troubled campaign in the Devon and Exeter Football League pyramid so hopefully this news can serve as a catalyst for a resurgence.
