FOUR members of Fit2Run braved the weather on the evening of Thursday 13 to take part in the annual 'Coastal Dash', an approximately 4-mile, multi-terrain running race starting at Dawlish Warren, beginning with an out-and-back section along the beach.
Once off the beach, participants head towards Dawlish along the sea wall, crossing the footbridge over the railway line and then heading along the coastal footpath back to where they started at Dawlish Warren, via another footbridge. The route is mainly flat with just one climb.
The weather was unusual for the time of year, with strong winds and rain, making the beach section particularly arduous. This did not dampen the spirits of the fantastic Dawlish Coasters Marshals, who were so positive and supportive. Each finisher received a spectacular medal, a slate coaster and an ice cream from local company 'Local Scoop'.
