ALTHOUGH rain was an issue elsewhere in the Tolchards DCL, the only A Division match not to reach a conclusion was the one between Abbotskerswell and North Devon.

As table-topping North Devon would have been favourites to beat table-propping Abbotskerswell, nine points for an abandonment instead of a potential four, five or six for a loss was a minor bonus for Abbots.

Abbotskerswell were 69 for four after 25 overs when umpires Bob Clark and Jonathan Musikanth decided enough was enough.

Toby Hard (13), Ed Smout-Cooper (14) and Toby Codd (14no) had all reached double figures when the game was halted.

Josh Atkinson (2-23) was North Devon’s leading bowler.

This is the first game of the season for Abbots that has been abandoned but the second for NDCC, with their clash versus Plymouth 1st XI ending in similar circumstances in mid-May.
