A NEWTON Abbot Bowls Club trio attended a past & present, indoor & outdoor president’s event at Padbrook Park, Cullompton, on Sunday, December 8.

Alan Mann, Dave Pickett and Catherine Pickett were glad to see county members who they have played with, and in some cases against, from the latest season and also those from years gone by.

They enjoyed a splendid three-course meal with good company, the added bonus being that the raffle on the day raised £120 for a good cause in the form of the Devon Air Ambulance.

Dave Pickett and Ken Howard meanwhile, were due to attend The Bowls County AGM on Saturday, December 7 at Exeter Golf and Country Club. However, the adverse weather conditions were there to interrupt, leading to the event being cancelled and rearranged for mid-January next year. Here’s to hoping that the weather doesn’t push that AGM back any further.
