NEWTON Abbot Bowls Club President Julia Barnes is deserving of a big congratulations for playing her 75th Johns Trophy Match- Devon may have lost to Gloucestershire but they still qualify to play Somerset next. Julia is accompanied by Isobel Burley in the Devon side.

Talking of Isobel and she lost her Ladies Major 4 Wood Singles in the Open stage at Culm Vale but well done for getting that far either way.

Meanwhile, the Men's A Team had a tremendous 14-0 home win against Torbay Country Club in the MDL Premier League and continue to lead the way in that division.

Lastly, a recent friendly away at Topsham was cancelled due to the weather, which is a real shame given just how good their green is, but now attentions turn to the next one with Bowls Devon Presidents set to visit Newton Abbot on July 23.
