BOVEY Tracey Bowls club enjoyed yet another busy week of action that began with a bank holiday game of fun, the rules of which are far too complicated to explain. This was followed by a barbecue attended by some 60 members and partners which was enjoyed by all.

The men's Mid Devon League team excelled in their home match against Paignton Torbay, winning on all four rinks by an overall score of 126 shots to 35.

J Farley, P Cridge, K Lockett, M Webber 28-8; Fulbrook, D Johnson, L Hignett, T Ridgewell 31-11; A Walding, K Breame, C Shorland, P Joy 24-10; S Callard, K Addey, R Bailey, D Saunders 43-6.

Due to a one-sided win on the scoreboard, this dominance is reflected in the league points as Bovey collect all 14 available.

In the County Unbadged Pairs competition, Bovey's Roger Bailey and Kenny Breame had a good home win against Nick and Chris Morore from Marldon by 19 shots to 8.

Bovey's ladies meanwhile travelled to Starcross for a South Devon League match where they lost by two games to one, one of the defeats coming by a single point. R Young, J Ridgewell, S Johnson 18-19; C Towle, Y Stanford, H Call 11-21; D Bailey, K Callard, S Breame 20-15. League points, Starcross 8 - Bovey Tracey 2.
