In an evening game at Kings, Torquay, they lost by three rinks to one, picking up just two league points to Kings' twelve. However, in a complete reversal of fortunes, Bovey won all four rinks at Paignton Torbay on Saturday afternoon resulting in a 14-0 points victory. In the Over 55s X Division, Bovey hosted Newton Abbot but had an off day, being well beaten on both rinks and losing by eight league points to nil. Individual scores unavailable.
A trip to Ottery St Mary for a mixed friendly resulted in the rinks being shared two each with Bovey shading the overall score by 65 shots to 58. Another mixed triples friendly on Kingsteignton's mat was won by the home team who took three of the four rinks and the overall score by 72 shots to 62. D Wraighte, J Ridgewell, P Joy 11-18; A Chew, M Botham, K Breame 16-19; A Walding, R Smith, N Fletcher 21-11; Alastair F, Pat F, N Botham 14-24.
A selection of results from various club competitions follow. In the men's handicap, Keith Lockett won by one shot against Roger Bailey after an epic 28 ends and Andy Walding won 21-12 against Les Hignett.
In the men's two woods, Roger Bailey won 17-11 over Phil Cridge. Mark Webber and Dave Johnson won 27-14 against Les Hignett and Phil Cridge in the men's drawn pairs. In the ladies' two woods Sarah Breame won 15-12 against Deb Simpson and in the Ley Cup, Yvonne Stanford beat Deborah Bailey by two sets to one.
