TIME has stood still in Newton Abbot... well, not quite, but the clock tower has stopped working.

The clock tower recently underwent repairs, having stopped working months earlier, but it has since stopped working again.

But fear not, for Newton Abbot Town Council’s specialist clock repairer is on their way to the ancient market town to restore it.

‘We will keep you updated as we work to get time ticking again’ the council said.

The iconic town landmark did not chime at New Year as it required fixing.

The ancient clock mechanism requires a great deal of maintenance year round.
