Teignmouth Lido is to offer sauna sessions for the first time this summer.

The outdoor pool will host Devon’s only pop-up wild sauna tent from Tuesday June 13.

Sauna sessions will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and on alternate weekends.

The sauna facilities will be provided by Teignmouth-based Devon Sauna Hub, which already operates wild swim and sauna meets on the banks of the River Teign, sessions at Ashburton swimming pool and runs special events such as a summer solstice fire and ice party.

The UK wild sauna scene is rapidly expanding as more people become aware of the health benefits associated with saunas, cold water therapy and wild swimming. There are now over 100 wild saunas in the UK compared with just a handful in 2018.

Sessions in the pop-up sauna tent at the Lido will cost £15 for 55 minutes.
