A long-established Teignmouth summer tradition will not be taking place this year.

Teignmouth carnival has been postponed until summer 2025 due to policing concerns, financial and resource constraints and requirements to comply with stricter deadlines.

In a message, seen by the Mid Devon Advertiser, that was sent to carnival supporters and sponsors today, the Carnival Committee said ‘please be in no doubt that this has been a very difficult decision to make, which in the end was taken out of our hands.’

Teignmouth Carnival usually takes place in the last week of July.
