TWO Haldon Trail Runners competed in races at the weekend.

Simon Bunday took part in the Otter Rail and River Run 10k on Saturday along with 300 other runners in warm conditions with a bit of rain along the way, finishing 75th in 56.28.

Runners start in Tipton St John playing fields and the race runs along the River Otter for the first two miles before heading inland for the next two miles. After picking up the river again, it then takes a tough muddy climb along a bridleway before the finish back in the playing fields.

And on Sunday, Luke Williams took a ferry to take part in the Lundy Island Race half marathon- finishing third in 1:55.04.

The race takes runners over 14 miles of pristine, wildlife-encrusted tracks tended by the Landmark Trust, visiting the North lighthouse, traversing the undulating eastern and western clifftops and the central spine of the island on its three loops.
