THE Teignbridge Trotters held their Annual Awards night at Finlake Holiday Park on Saturday, December 16.
This was an excuse for the 115 Trotters to celebrate some amazing achievements, dress up and strut their stuff on the dance floor.
Club Chairman, Roger Hayes, who organised the evening, invited the Club’s Vice Chairman, Nathan Elphick, up onto the stage to present the awards.
For the men, the fastest marathon came courtesy of James Long (2:56:57) whilst Hamish Rae led the way for the half-marathon (1:14:51) and the 10k (34:21).
Helen Anthony earned the fastest marathon for the ladies (3:08:59), with the fastest half-marathon coming from Susanna Pratt (1:29:45) and the fastest 10k for Chloe Olford (39:22).
Alex Sparks and Michelle Doherty were the most promising newcomers whilst Trevor Irons and Chloe Olford were the most improved duo.
Stuart Moulson was awarded the Committee Cup for services to the club- Deb Hart, Caroline Hayes, Debbie Elphick and Dominique Harcourt were the other four nominated.
Members need to complete six of the available 16 races to be in the running for the Trotters Club Championship and Roger Eastbrook won for the men with a maximum 300 points, ahead of James Saunders (296) and Alan Kember (293). Mel Brooks (299), Lucy Payne (296) and Liz Nuttall (295) stood on the female podium.
Clare Youngman won Dennis’ Cup for coach of the year, in honour of Dennis Milstead who sadly passed away whilst leading a training run.
Deb Hart was the lucky recipient of the club’s London Marathon, decided by a draw, before the members then danced the night away to live band Basher Tate.
