HALDON Trail Runners members ended 2024 and started 2025 with age-category prizes in races.
Three members wasted little time opening their race accounts for the year by competing at the weekend.
Cat Matthews did the Walter Raleigh Round half marathon, which started and finished in Budleigh Salterton, on Saturday.
The route included the birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh, East Budleigh, and took runners across quiet lanes, unsurfaced roads, footpaths, coast paths and a dismantled railway.
Cat finished 85th in 2:35.35.
On Sunday morning, Chris King and Anthea Board took part in the flat First Chance 10k in Exeter, with Chris finishing 134th in 44.00 and Anthea winning the FV60 category in 46.37, putting her 186th overall.
That came after Simon Bunday ended 2024 by taking part in the off-road Final Countdown 10k in Sidmouth on New Year’s Eve.
Simon finished 100th overall in 1:02.21, which put him third MV65.
