PLAYER of the Day awards went to Beth Nicholls and Shana Osborne for Newton Abbot RFC Women this week.

Beth was the back of the day, playing in the number 15 at fullback and Shana won the award for the forwards, as a number six, in their clash with Launceston.

The fixture took place on Sunday, September 15 and the day prior, it was Toby Pascoe who won the respective award for the Men’s 1st XV. On Saturday, they beat Wellington on home turf to bounce back from their opening-day defeat.

51-15 was the score that the men won by and it wasn’t quite as pretty a picture for the women, with Launceston running up a 65-0 victory.
