NEW Cross thumped Exeter Engineers 33-12 at Five Lanes to stay second behind leaders Crediton Quins in Devon Two North East.
The Kingsteignton outfit were 26-7 up by half time and effectively had the game sewn up.
Tim Marshall, the New Cross team manager, said: “We played to our strengths and gave the opposition little to work with. It was a good performance.”
The New Cross try scorers were Red Milford, Josh Davey, Louie Griffiths, Rob Pedrick and Matt Pitcher. Lewis Short was four out of five from the tee.
Marshall’s side currently sit second in the standings with seven wins from 10 games, a single point ahead of Sidmouth II who have played one game less.
There is no fixture for New Cross this weekend on December 7, but they will return to action on the 14th, travelling to seventh-placed Cullompton II for a league matchup.
