NEW Cross turned-up the gas in the last 20 minutes to snatch a 22-all draw away to Sidmouth Quins in Devon Two North East.

Sidmouth led 10-5 at halftime thanks to a Dan Retter penalty and a Lewis Hole try that Retter converted. Ollie Robinson put New Cross on the board with an injury-time try.

The Quins forged further ahead with a soccer-style try for Jack Hembrow and a second for Hole that Retter converted for a 22-5 lead.

Two tries from No.8 Rob Pedrick, one of them converted by Ash Ansermoz, got New Cross back to 22-17 going into stoppage time.

There was a dramatic finish eight minutes into time added on when Paul Simister went over for the levelling try. The off-target conversion was the last act of the match.

New Cross remain second as a result but are running out of time to catch leaders Crediton Quins.
