NEIL Last scored twice for Bovey Tracey AFC as they booked their place in the next round of the FA Vase.

Liskeard Athletic ventured north of the Cornwall and Devon border to visit the Western Counties Roofing Ground and they returned home empty-handed.

Last opened the scoring from a set-piece and then the second was a thing of beauty.

From a good 40 yards out, the Bovey talisman spotted Liskeard’s goalkeeper off of the line and took aim. The latter was unlucky in fairness as he seemingly tipped the ball onto the crossbar in his scramble backwards, before the ball ricocheted in off of his helpless body.

The visitors halved the deficit with less than 15 minutes remaining but were unable to find that elusive equalizer.

Kenmart’s Man of the Match from Bovey’s Vase victory was announced after the game as Jesse Howe.
