THREE wickets each for Chris Yabsley and Dan Green helped Bovey Tracey 2nd XI to a 128-run win over Budleigh Salterton that moved them just a little further away from the B Division relegation zone.

Bovey Tracey are not safe yet, but the 10-point gap between them and second-bottom Teignmouth & Shaldon gives them a useful last-day cushion when they go to relegated Chudleigh this Saturday.

Sam Robbins stroked 63 at the top of Bovey’s batting order then Green launched the Budleigh bowling all around the ground (and out of at times) on the way to 78 from 36 balls.

Green took 16 runs from an Ed Doble over, 11 of Joe Marley and 14 in the next one from the opposite end bowled by Ryan Harris-Cotton.

Bovey had been a nervy 33 for four after a going over from Jack England (3-24) before Robbins and Green got into their stride.

Bits and pieces – the best Yabsley’s 14 not out – helped Bovey reach 211 for eight in 35 overs.

Budleigh, safely going nowhere in either direction this season, were all out for 83.

Max Mejzner (21) top scored. James Doble (16) was next best.

Budleigh were 57 for four when Ed Doble was run-out. Yabsley (3-12) vacuumed-up the middle order, leaving the dusting around the edges to Green (3-17).
