BUCKLAND Athletic have scored ten goals in their last two games, securing a huge win at home before earning a big point on the road.

Dan Hart’s men came from behind three times on Wednesday, 18 at St. Austell, striker Ryan Bush scoring the final goal of this 3-3 thriller.

Next up, with the inclement weather threatening, Buckland have a weekend off of league action and turn their attentions to the FA Vase. Callington Town, of the South West Peninsula League, will visit Homers Heath, a side with four wins, two draws and a defeat to their name thus far in the Premier West.

Talking of the SWPL and Bovey Tracey are the only one of the Mid-Devon trio to be taking to the pitch tomorrow, and it is also a Vase outing that beckons for them.

Their league form leaves a lot to be desired so a change of pace might be ideal for the Moorlanders. They will go on the road to Marlborough Park, the home of Ilfracombe Town, a side at a higher level but who also aren’t pulling up any trees currently.

Newton Abbot 66 1st XI have accrued 12 points and scored 16 goals in their opening four games in the South Devon Football League Premier and another stern challenge awaits, against Ilsington Villa, who are also yet to drop a point.

Duckspond is the destination for Kingsteignton Athletic 1st XI for a battle between two teams currently sitting mid-table, Buckfastleigh Rangers having won the one extra game they’ve played compared to the Rams.

In Division One, four teams have won every game thus far, one of whom is Bovey Tracey 2nd XI, who have a trip to Ivybridge Town 2nd XI coming up this weekend.

Brixham Town and Plymouth True Blues are two of the other teams flying high and their next opponents will be Watts Blake Bearne and Newton Abbot Spurs 3rd XI respectively, both with one win and two defeats to their names.

Liverton United are the only Mid-Devon team to have won thus far in Division Two but they don’t have a game scheduled for tomorrow, whilst Newton Rovers and Ipplepen Athletic will be at home with a chance to get points on the board.

Liverton seconds meanwhile will take on Ashburton in Division Three and both Kingsteignton seconds and 66 seconds will host teams from the South Hams, in the form of Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police seconds and Totnes & Dartington seconds.

Finally, to Division Four, where Chudleigh Athletic 2nd XI are the only local team to be playing at home, where they’ll look to make it nine points from four games against Kingsbridge & Kellaton United.
