BOVEY Tracey AFC and Teignmouth AFC both enjoyed positive results away from home on the weekend.

The South West Peninsula League Premier East went on their travels and returned to South Devon with points in hand.

Bovey visited Crediton United in Matt Hayden’s first game in permanent charge and after conceding from the penalty spot after just 10 minutes, swiftly fired back.

Number 20 Jesse Howe equalised shortly after to make it 1-1 in the 16th minute. Bovey goalkeeper Finn McLean received a second yellow in the second 45 and having scored a hat-trick at one end not too long ago, Lewis Perring was the man to try on the gloves at the other this time around.

Crediton had chances late on but the 10 men held on for a noteworthy point, taking their tally to 13 from 13 games for the season.

Teignmouth meanwhile were away at Bishops Lydeard and earned a fifth victory of the campaign.

Ashley Donohue and Hayden Roe netted the goals for the Teigns whilst Callum Chivers was on target for the hosts in this 2-1 game. Roe earned Man of the Match for his match-winning contribution and for generally playing with composure all over the field.

Teignmouth lost five on the spin between mid-September and the end of October but have now won two from two in November, having knocked Bodmin Town out of the Walter C Parsons League Cup two weeks prior.

In the absence of any midweek SWPL fixtures, Teignmouth head into the weekend in 10th in the table on 16 points, two places ahead of Bovey.

Coming up Bovey on the 23rd is a trip to Middlezoy Rovers in the league, whilst Teignmouth have the weekend off and Newton Abbot Spurs are hosting Okehampton Argyle.

Following that, Bovey and Teignmouth cross paths on the 29th!
