A TRIO of fixtures were postponed on Saturday, February 22 in the Devon Football League but Ipplepen Athletic’s trip to the University of Exeter was not one of them.

The struggling ‘Pens paid the uni side a visit and there was only a single goal in it, in favour of the hosts, at Exwick Sports Hub.

Sitting rock bottom and having played five games more than the pair ahead of them, North Molton Sports Club and Bere Alston United, doesn’t make for great reading, but there a lot of positive to take from running a title-chasing team this close.

Elsewhere in the DFL, Dartmouth AFC drew 1-1 at Beer Albion, Ottery St Mary edged out Appledore, Elmore & Plymouth Marjon shared the spoils and Topsham Town overcame Newtown in an eight-goal thriller.

March begins with a home game against Plymouth Marjon for Ipplepen before they then host Alphington in the League Cup on Saturday 8.
