IPPLEPEN Athletic continue to bring up the rear in the Devon Football League following their latest defeat.

The ‘Pens hosted University of Exeter and were beaten 3-0 for their 20th loss of the campaign.

Exeter Uni meanwhile are competing at the other end of the table, sitting second and with two games in hand to make up the four-point deficit to leaders Alphington.

Fellow strugglers Bere Alston United also came away from the weekend empty-handed as they fell 2-1 away at the aforementioned Alphington.

Other DFL results saw 13th-placed Plymstock United edge out 11th-placed Thorverton in a five-goal thriller, fourth-placed Plymouth Marjon win handsomely away at sixth-placed Dartmouth AFC and Budleigh Salterton put North Molton Sports Club to the sword as well, winning 4-1 at home.

Up next for Ipplepen is a home game against Plymstock with the former running out of opportunities to move away from the foot of the table.
