THE South Hams short-mat bowls season came to an end last week with the final of the Knock Out Cup and the presentation of the trophies and medals from other competitions throughout the season.
The final was a very close affair between Slapton Cygnets and Dittisham, with each team winning on one of the two mats used. Slapton Cygnets won by a margin of two points, all of which were scored with the last bowl on the last end played. A very tight match which was thoroughly enjoyed by all those watching at Stoke Fleming Village Hall.
After the match there were presentations for the Collyer Teams Trophy which was also won by Slapton Cygnets with Totnes Creameries Silver Tops as runners up. The Division One champions for the season were Totnes Creameries Milk Churns with Slapton Cygnets as the runners-up. The Division Two champions were Stokenham with South Brent as the runners-up.
