IT WAS an eventful weekend for Mid Devon riders, with races happening all over the UK.

Ed Selwood delivered impressive performances at the British National Track Championships. He showcased his skills in the Keirin, coming close to advancing to the finals. In the match sprint, the competition was tough, but Ed's determination highlighted just how competitive he can be. Qualifying for the finals is never easy, but he certainly rose to the occasion.

Lara Dix (pictured out in front) raced at Odd Down in her first women's event after moving up from the youth section. A crash on the first lap delayed the race, but Lara was active in the pack as one rider broke away while two others chased. Lara attempted to bridge the gap several times but was unsuccessful. Ultimately, she finished 10th overall in the bunch sprint.

The Azets Spring Classic in Dorset featured three young Mid Devon riders making their debut in road racing after moving up from the youth ranks: Edward Fraile-Whysall, Henry Cadwallader, and Caio Waters. The weather was wet and windy, and the pace was fast.

Caio managed to stay with the group for half of the race before dropping off, but considering he doesn't race much, this was a significant step up for him. Edward was working hard but felt rough, so he assisted Henry in bridging the gap to a chasing group from the main peloton.

Henry performed well, but unfortunately, he fell back to the main bunch due to cramping and eventually pulled out of the race. Edward faced a mechanical issue with just over a lap to go.

Bayley Woodger headed to Hillingdon for their third round of the circuit race open. Bayley had a strong ride, but his legs weren't there today; he came in fifth place out of 18 riders in the bunch sprint.
