IPPLEPEN captain Neil Hancock lashed the Chudleigh bowling for 178 not out and still finished on the losing side of the B Division encounter at Kate Brook.

Pens’ total of 297 for four may have looked imposing during the tea interval, but if it did Chudleigh were not intimidated by it.

Will Heather led the Chudleigh response with a ton of his own that helped set-up a three-wicket win clinched with nine balls to spare.

For Chudleigh it was just the result they wanted to banish memories of the home defeat by Bideford seven days earlier.
